The world's first nano-particle LED lamp is about to come out

According to reports, two British companies revealed at the London International Lighting Exhibition LuxLive that they are currently preparing to jointly launch the world's first nano-particle lamps.

Nanoparticles enable the luminaire to produce a precise and harmonious spectrum that will be the ideal illumination for stimulating plant growth.

As the world's leading R&D and manufacturer of cadmium-free quantum dots, Cumbria's led lighting company Marl and Manchester's Nanoco Group showcased the world's first cadmium-free quantum dot (CFQD) led lighting at the London International Lighting Exhibition LuxLive. Product , OrionQD.

The Nanoco Group uses cadmium-free particles that absorb light in a wide range of wavelengths, such as blue light, and the color that is released is determined by its size.

Compared to the quantum efficiency of phosphors of 80%-90%, the photon efficiency of photons is not so high, but in view of the narrow spectral color (40-60nm wide wavelength conversion) of quantum dots, higher system efficiency can be produced. As a result, light is only converted where it is needed.

Horticultural applications Nanoparticle lamps produce blue and red light, but do not have green light that matches the chlorophyll absorption spectrum, as this will not reflect light.

Marl has embedded the Nanoco Group's particles into a thin flexible plastic film as a remote "phosphor" for the luminaire's blue LED illumination array.

In addition to horticultural applications, this technology has potential in retail and construction applications. Source: OFweek Semiconductor Lighting Network
