According to statistics from the Cixi Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in Ningbo, Zhejiang, in the first half of 2011, a total of 3,608 batches of outdoor lamps and lanterns were exported for inspection in Cixi. The amount exceeded US$100 million, an increase of 70% and 109% year-on-year. From the perspective of export countries and regions, the EU and the United States are mainly concentrated, of which 2,172 are approved for export to the European Union, amounting to 63.31 million US dollars, accounting for 63% of the total exports; the United States exports 295 batches, the amount of 12.24 million US dollars, accounting for 12% of total exports. From the perspective of export product categories, mainly waterproof lamps and outdoor lamps, including 955 batches of waterproof lamps, the amount of US$34.58 million, accounting for 34% of the total exports; outdoor lamps 430 batches, the amount of 11.87 million US dollars, accounting for 11% of total exports.

According to the analysis of the Bureau, there is a strong increase in outdoor lighting exports in Cixi, mainly due to four aspects. The first is the obvious phenomenon of industrial clustering. Taking a fixed waterproof fluorescent lamp as an example, more than 20 major production enterprises are basically concentrated in Longshan Town and are distributed on both sides of the 329 National Road. Most of these companies started in stamping, injection molding and other related supporting industries, and the industrial chain is relatively mature. The second is to accumulate experience through OEM. Still taking fixed-type waterproof fluorescent lamps as an example, some leading companies have gone through high-end quality routes for OEMs such as Philips and Osram, as well as setting a quality example for their peers. The third is quality and management double improvement after the inspection. Type tests have effectively played a role in the export of luminaire products. At the same time, the access assessment has helped companies concerned to improve management levels to varying degrees. The fourth is to gradually extend to the upstream core industries. Some large-scale enterprises are no longer satisfied with the long-term position of an “assembly factory”, but have focused on the development and production of key components such as electronic ballasts, and have improved their product market competition by mastering core technologies. force.
