Raspberry Pi Wireless Moon Car Introduction

The Raspberry Pi Wireless Moon Rover is a project I have recently done. I have learned a lot through this fun project. Here is a brief introduction to the composition of my Raspberry Pi wireless lunar rover. As you can see from the picture below, the chassis of the lunar rover is made of transparent acrylic material (also known as plexiglass), with four beautiful wheels that can be easily moved indoors. The lunar rover is controlled by the web network interface, and the front camera can be seen through the above camera, so that remote control can be realized from another room or another farther through the Internet.

I use WebIOPi to build a web interface so that I can control and accept the video stream through any browser that supports Java scripts. The main actions that the lunar rover can achieve are forward, backward, left and right turn, stop, and switch LED lighting to provide illumination in dark or low light environments.

From the picture below you can see the camera and LED lights in front of the lunar rover, followed by the power switch, the green LED power indicator and the DC power connector for charging the 7.4V lithium polymer battery, and also with a display battery status Red indicator light.

The picture below shows the Raspberry Pi and WIFI transceivers, as well as all the necessary connections. On the back of the lunar rover are lithium polymer batteries, voltage regulators, H-bridge circuits and battery chargers.

After the test, the video transmission is very smooth, with almost no delay, and it is easy to control the direction of action of the lunar rover based on the video seen on the web page.
