Wire-to-board/board-to-board manual soldering into history

A few years ago, in order to reduce costs, wire-to-board and board-to-board manual soldering has always been a helpless choice for many Chinese LED lighting manufacturers. Nowadays, in order to solve the heat dissipation problem of LED lighting, aluminum substrates with better thermal conductivity have been gradually When used in large quantities, such as continuing to adhere to manual soldering, the connection quality risk will be greatly improved. As we all know, the welding process requires an optimal soldering temperature. When the soldering iron tip is placed on the pad of the aluminum substrate during soldering, the solder joint temperature cannot be rapidly increased due to the good thermal conductivity of the aluminum substrate, which is easy to cause solder joints. Quality hazards such as false welding and cold welding seriously affect the quality of products. In response to these problems, Tyco Electronics has developed a series of wire-to-board and side-board-to-board connectors for solid-state lighting suitable for high-speed surface mount (SMT). The housing is made of high-temperature plastic, which is suitable for reflow soldering commonly used in LED lighting module manufacturing. Process requirements, the connector can be surface mounted with the LED. SMT and through-hole plug-in lighting connectors (Figure 1) provide fast and reliable cable termination for both plain and aluminum substrates. This small, low-profile SMT is connected in one bit and two bits. Ideal for LED strip interconnects, lighting controllers, and other applications that use plug-in wiring. The connector is RoHS compliant, the terminal is made of copper alloy, the nickel layer is the bottom plating, the surface is tinned, the outer shell is made of high temperature plastic, and the flame retardant grade is UL94-V0. Although the plug-in LED connector is most suitable for 18AWG 6~16 core stranded wire, it can also be used for 18~22AWG solid core wire and 18~20AWG pre-bonded stranded wire.

The plug connector is available in a multi-strand diameter of 18 to 22 AWG (0.3 to 0.9 mm 2 ). The material is a crimped tin-plated copper terminal and a UL94-V0 flame-retardant thermoplastic housing. Use and provide active locking to ensure a secure connection.

A small side-to-board connector with a non-polar blade socket design that provides a more flexible mounting between LED printed circuit boards than a conventional polarity-polarized design. The connector can be slid horizontally or vertically. Combine two boards to complete the connection. The vertical sliding connection design makes it easier to replace the board in the middle of the LED string. Simply lift the board to be replaced and place it in the new board.

The board end connector can be used for both board-to-board and wire-to-board connections. The advantage of using a non-polar design is that the user only needs to reserve a product for the board end application, which reduces the inventory complexity. The design is simplified because the board ends are designed to be identical in construction. The terminal reel type is packaged for high speed termination equipment operation.
