Intel processor has harvested x86 slump

In the third quarter of this year, x86 microprocessor shipments fell by about 9% year-on-year, and by 4% from the second quarter, the second worst quarter in more than a decade in the first quarter of 2001. Dean McCarron, an analyst at Mercury Research, commented: "AMD has been hit harder than Intel. They are all going backwards."
