As early as 2016, Hyundai Group announced that it will cooperate with global information technology companies to develop smart car business. According to reports, with the establishment of the China Big Data Center, Hyundai Group and China Unicom have now reached a cooperative relationship, and the two will jointly develop a predictive analysis platform that can handle various types of local data.
In addition, Hyundai Group's automotive manufacturing engineers will also work with Cisco Systems Inc. to develop a self-driving car that is both safe and highly intelligent. In China, Hyundai Group has also established a good relationship with Baidu and hopes to apply the MapAuto navigation technology developed by Baidu and the DuerOS intelligent speech recognition system to the car configuration.
As early as 2013, Hyundai Group had already established automobile cloud services in South Korea and had mature technologies and experience in the operation of intelligent vehicles.
