Best Buy Reduces BlackBerry PlayBook

Best Buy cuts the retail price of the BlackBerry PlayBook today. Among them, the entry-level 16GB BlackBerry PlayBook retail price was cut to 199.99 US dollars. Best Buy is intended to provoke consumer interest in RIM tablets.

After Best Buy cuts the price, the 16GB PlayBook now costs just $199.99, and the 32GB and 64GB PlayBooks now retail for $229.99 and $299.99, respectively.

Although the price cuts are relatively large, this is not the first time the price of the playbook tablet has been reduced. However, after this price reduction, Best Buy official online shows that both 16GB and 32GB PlayBooks are out of stock, with lead times of 1-2 weeks. Currently, the 32GB PlayBook RIM official retail price is still $470.

RIM plans to provide the Playbook with firmware updates in February 2012, including joining a local email client, PIM access, and running some specific Android applications. The current e-mail function of the Playbook needs to connect to a BlackBerry smartphone or use the Webmail interface through the PlayBook browser.
