At present, three new instruments using OLED (flat display) lighting appear on the market, namely Ford's Aston Martin DB9, Grand Cherokee Jeep and Chevrolet Corvette.
Market research firm ABIResearch believes that this new lighting technology will give a perfect feeling to high-end luxury cars. Previously, the use of OLEDs was limited to Joshua Laurito, a regular analyst for mobile phones, digital cameras and auto parts radios. The use of OLEDs to create displays has given automotive manufacturers a huge advantage. They don't need to punch the cabs in the car as they used to, so they can quickly install the car dashboard lighting system. Although the cost of such a display is high, for luxury car manufacturers and dealers, this means significant savings while making consumers more satisfied.
Yazaki, which manufactures these new dashboards, claims that this product has high contrast, low power consumption, low power consumption, low operating temperature, almost 180 degree viewing angle and a thin and light structure.
Although OLED production currently uses expensive small molecule processes, it is expected that in the near future, low-cost printed polymer OLED displays will be available in volume, stimulating the automotive market and other fields.
