At present, most of the monitoring of building equipment is based on manual inspection. For some equipment that needs real-time monitoring, maintenance personnel are usually arranged next to the equipment. Of course, the drawbacks of this model are obvious. It not only consumes a lot of human resources, but also greatly increases the cost of monitoring. Most of the current online equipment fault monitoring systems use the capture card and PC mode. The acquisition card is responsible for collecting data, and the PC is responsible for data processing and transmission. Such systems are bulky and expensive, and are not suitable for applications where production equipment is dispersed and the field work environment is harsh. In order to solve these problems, this paper applies the intelligent router related technology and Internet technology to the design of the equipment monitoring system, so that the equipment fault detection system has remote monitoring function.
1. Principle of remote equipment monitoring system
The Internet-based remote device monitoring system designed in this paper is mainly composed of building equipment or industrial equipment, PLC control cabinet, intelligent router and remote server, as shown in Figure 1. The building equipment can include air conditioning, lighting, etc. The main function of the PLC control cabinet is to control the opening and closing of the equipment. The role of the remote server is to store the real-time monitoring information of the equipment so that the user can view it in real time through the computer, tablet or mobile phone. Another function is to push an alert message to the user terminal when it is detected that the device data is abnormal.
2, intelligent router design
This article will use the Cortex-A8 embedded board to model smart routers. The software design of the intelligent router mainly includes the embedded linux operating system, the web server lighttpd, the database mysql, the modbus protocol, and the application of the monitoring device. The main hardware on the intelligent router includes the processor, 3G module, Ethernet port, serial port and SD card slot.
2.1 Data collection
In this paper, modbus is used as the transmission protocol of real-time data of the device. The serial port and Ethernet port are used as data collection methods. The final data is transmitted to the server through Ethernet or 3G network, and the data is saved in the server database. The data obtained from the device will be stored in the SD card of the smart router, and the data uploaded to the server side only needs the key part. When you need to get all the detailed data, you can also log in to the smart router to view it. This not only greatly reduces the capacity of the server to store data, but also greatly reduces the bandwidth required by the client.
2.2 Main Software Description

Lighttpd is an open source web server software designed for high performance websites with high performance, low memory overhead, rich modules, and very low CPU usage. Lighttpd is designed to provide a web server environment that is highly compatible, fast, secure, and flexible for high-performance websites.
