Apple again ran a patent infringement lawsuit, a patent-licensed Papst company claimed that Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod infringed four of its patents related to data transmission technology, and formally filed an indictment with the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, including U.S. patent numbers are 6473399, 8504746, 8966144, and 9189437, all of which are related to digital media transmission technology.
Papst pointed out that the issue of patent 6473399 was reported to Apple as early as 2007, and the two parties continued until mid-2010, mainly involving data communication applications of PTP (picture transfer protocol) and MTP (media transfer protocol) technologies. At the same time, Apple has been closely monitoring its patent operations, knowing the existence of the 8504746, 8966144 and 9189437 patents, but still producing, marketing and selling equipment using its patented technology.
According to the Papst website, the company has reached 150 patent licensing agreements with major electronics manufacturers worldwide, including Canon, Fujisu, HP, IBM, LG, Panasonic, SAMSUNG, Seagate, SONY and TOSHIBA, and the above four patents are early. Previously used as a lawsuit against digital camera manufacturers such as Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Panasonic.
Currently, Papst requires the US court in Texas to require Apple to compensate them for past and future losses, and the case is being processed.
