At this week's MacBook Pro conference, Tencent Digital (Shawn) confirmed that the Microsoft Office suite will support the new Touch Bar. Now, Microsoft also details the relevant details.
In Word, the user will get a mode called Word Focus, which will display the function area and commands originally located at the top of the interface in the Touch Bar, so that the user can concentrate on his work. Specifically, classic keys including copy/paste, bold, italic, underline, list, and indent are moved to the Touch Bar for quick access.
PowerPoint's support for Touch Bar allows users to "manipulate graphical elements with ease." Buttons such as "Reorder objects" allow the user to easily find the exact object they need and move it to a new location. Swiping your finger over the Touch Bar also allows the user to easily rotate and track the object controls/sliders.
Excel's Touch Bar integration allows users to write functions into programs more quickly. After entering the equal sign in the cell, Excel will immediately display recently used functions in the Touch Bar. In addition, you can use the Touch Bar for easy spreadsheet management. Whether it is borders, cell colors, or chart recommendations, you can display them on the Touch Bar.
When the user edits the calendar and e-mail in Outlook, Touch Bar will provide "the most commonly used commands." For example, when writing a message, Touch Bar displays the Add Attachment button and the Recent Documents list so that the user can add it as a full attachment or a link to a button. In the calendar, users can view all the activities of the day, even quickly enter the Skype for Business video conference.
