The hand model is a functional model that is used to check the appearance or structure rationality based on one or more of the product appearance drawings or structural drawings without opening the mold.
The early Shouban model was limited by various conditions, mainly because most of its work was done by hand, making it difficult to strictly meet the dimensional requirements of the appearance and structural drawings because of the long construction period of the hand model. The function of appearance or structural rationality is also greatly reduced. With the advancement of science and technology, the rapid development of CAD and CAM technology has provided better technical support for the manufacture of hand-board models, making the accuracy of hand-board models possible. On the other hand, with the increasingly fierce social competition, the speed of product development has increasingly become the main contradiction of competition, and the production of the Shouban model can effectively increase the speed of product development. It is in this situation that the Shouban model manufacturing industry emerged as a relatively independent industry and flourished.
Classification of hand model
Handboard models are divided according to the means of production, which can be divided into manual hand model and numerical control hand model:
(1) Manual Shouban model: Its main workload is done by hand.
(2) CNC hand model: Its main workload is accomplished by CNC machine tools. According to the different equipment used, it can be divided into laser rapid prototyping (RP) hand model and machining center (CNC) hand model.
A: RP Shouban model: The Shouban model is mainly produced by laser rapid prototyping technology.
B: CNC hand model: mainly hand model produced by machining center.
The RP hand model compares well with the CNC hand model:
The advantages of the RP hand model are mainly manifested in its rapidity, but it is mainly formed by stacking technology. Therefore, the RP hand model is generally relatively rough and has certain requirements on the wall thickness of the product. For example, if the wall thickness is too thin, it cannot be produced. .
The advantage of the CNC handboard model is that it can accurately reflect the information expressed on the drawings, and the surface quality of the CNC handboard model is high, especially after the completion of surface spraying and screen printing, even more brilliant than the products produced after the mold is opened. As a result, the manufacture of CNC Shouban models has become the mainstream of Shouban model manufacturing.
