At yesterday's shareholders meeting, the company's chairman Zhao Jingcheng explained that as of the first half of last year, the company signed an agreement with Feidong Lighting, committing to contribute to the investment income of Huadong Science and Technology 5 million yuan each year. Due to fierce competition in the fluorescent lamp market in the past two years, the profit of Feidong Lighting has declined. In the second half of last year, when the two sides negotiated profit distribution, Feidong Lighting only promised to earn 2 million to 3 million yuan of profit from Huadong Technology.
In fact, according to the 2007 semi-annual report, Feidong Lighting's net profit for the first six months of this year was 3.746 million yuan, and the investment income contributed to Huadong Science and Technology during the reporting period was 2.5 million yuan. The original annual investment income of 5 million yuan was reduced to 2.5 million yuan. After comprehensively considering various factors and earning a full pot, Huadong Technology chose to withdraw from this “cash cowâ€.
