Intel Integrated Graphics Ships 500 Million Years in Three Years

In the past six years, the annual compound annual growth rate of Intel graphics card shipments reached 19.9%, compared with 9.8% for other manufacturers. After a short period of low ebb in 2006-2007, Intel’s graphics cards have resumed rapid growth in the past two years, with a share of approximately 52% in the first half of this year.

In the current 32nm Westmere family, Intel also packages the graphics core module HD Graphics in the processor, and its performance characteristics are flat, but it is rapidly popularized in a nearly forcible manner. Now that Sandy Bridge is ready, the combination of CPU + GPU is bound to further consolidate Intel's position in the graphics market.
