Linear Technology Corporation (Linear Technology Corporation) launched against overvoltage (OV), undervoltage (UV) reverse polarity protection controller failure the LTC4365, the device with the scope of -40V to 60V, the need for power protection window Applications. The LTC4365 provides two comparator inputs to configure the OV and UV setpoints with an external resistor divider from the normal operating range of 2.5V to 34V. The gate pin controls a dual N-channel MOSFET to ensure that only the voltages in the OV and UV windows pass through and reach the output. The reverse power protection circuit automatically isolates the load from the negative input voltage. In addition to providing transient protection up to 60V, the LTC4365 also isolates 50Hz and 60Hz AC power supplies. For most applications, no TVS or input capacitors are required, providing a solution with a small number of components for a compact design. The LTC4365 is targeted at portable instrumentation, industrial automation, and automotive applications where accurate overvoltage, undervoltage, and reverse protection are required to protect the load from erroneous power connections.
The LTC4365 consumes only 125uA during normal operation and has a shutdown pin to enable and disable the external MOSFET and to provide a 10uA low current shutdown condition. A fault output indicates the gate state. With the shutdown pin, the two LTC4365s can be configured to select between two power supplies in a novel application. If reverse protection is not required, then only a single external MOSFET is required.
The LTC4365 is specified for operation over the commercial, industrial, and automotive temperature ranges and is available in 8-lead (3mm x 2mm) DFN and TSOT-23 packages.
