Fox Electronics Asia Ltd., the world's leading provider of frequency control solutions, announces a new family of dedicated XpressO oscillators optimized for Fibre Channel configurations. Like all models in the new 3.3V XpressO series, the XpressO Fibre Channel Configuration Oscillator is a pre-configured off-the-shelf product for precision-specific requirements in an industry standard 7 x 5mm package.

Fox's new Fibre Channel-specific XO oscillators offer ±50ppm frequency stability and provide greater stability on demand. The series includes 106.25MHz, 159.375MHz and 212.50MHz models, the 106.25MHz models are available with HCMOS and LVPECL outputs, the 159.375MHz models have LVPECL outputs, and the 212.50MHz models offer LVPECL and LVDS outputs. These new XpressO oscillators feature a three-state enable/disable feature that allows the user to turn the output on and off. The output enable/disable time is less than 100ns.
Each XpressO crystal oscillator model has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and a storage temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. In the 12KHz to 20MHz frequency range, the typical phase jitter of the 106.25MHz and 159.375MHz models is 0.75ps RMS, while the 212.50MHz model is 0.86ps RMS with a startup time of 10ms. The new XpressO oscillator has a nickel-plated gold-plated surface.
