The ADM2582E/ADM2587E is an isolated RS-485/RS-422 transceiver with isoPowerTM integrated isolated DC/DC technology. It can be configured in half-duplex or full-duplex mode with data rates of 16 Mbps. The /500kbps, 20-pin wide-body SOIC package is pin-compatible and is specified over the industrial temperature range (−40°C to +85°C).
Adm2587e pin function introductionThe ADM2587E has a RE/DE enable control pin that supports half-duplex applications. The application circuit diagram is as follows:

ADM2587E is used for half-duplex RS-485/RS-422 interface isolation: Since ADM2587E has four outputs of A, B, Y and Z at the back end, when used as a half-duplex circuit, A and Y need to be connected as half. The duplex A signal line connects B and Z as a half-duplex B signal line. 0.01uF, 10uF and two 0.1uF capacitors are connected between the input of the two VCC pins and the GND1 pin. These capacitors are necessary to decouple and filter to ensure smooth input power. Similarly, the 0.1uF and 0.01uF capacitors between the Visoin and GND2 pins, and the 0.1uF and 10uF capacitors between the Visoout and GND2 pins are all required for chip operation. The Visoin pin and the Visoout pin on the bus output side of the ADM2587E must be connected together. From the functional block diagram in Figure 1, we can see that the Visoout pin is the output pin of the ADM2587E internal isolated power supply, while the Visoin pin is internal. Full duplex isolation
The full-duplex isolation circuit of the ADM2587E is very simple. The logic side pin is connected to the control chip, and the bus side pin is connected to the bus. The application circuit diagram is as follows:

The full-duplex isolation circuit of the ADM2587E is similar to the half-duplex isolation circuit. The back-end A, B, Y, and Z are directly connected to the full-duplex bus.
The ADM2582E/ADM2587E can be powered from a 3.3V or 5V supply, making it easy to interface with a typical 5V supply system and a low-power 3.3V supply system. A, B, Y, and Z pins with ±15KV ESD protection and 25KV/us common-mode rejection provide most of the protection for the chip pins. In harsh applications, they can be on the bus. Devices such as TVS tubes are added to enhance the chip's ability to protect against large inrush currents and voltages.
